a note to one's self.

Dejection isn’t a constant state of self pity. For self pity’s expertise isn’t in change. It sits on the shoulders of men who wish for things that never were. Misery realizes that change; a change in personal nature. Understanding the differences between two faces of a coin. It is a constant struggle of balance, control, and power. A man can sit on the edge of a coin knowing that with every shift, it can fall on its side. When a loved one passes, those who stay last mourn. We mourn to understand that our loved one has died. We will only see their face in pictures, we will only talk to them facing a stone, and we will only see them when we are not looking. A depressed being is mourning the loss of himself; understanding the change, and coping to move on. The ability to understand the difference in lifestyle takes strength. One is only weak when they are unable to see that they’re at a different level again, when they accept stagnicity. This is my funeral oration.
